Chequing Savings Accounts Kirby Kangaroo Account Headstart Term Deposits

Chequing

All of Spiritwood Credit Union's Chequing accounts include:

• Free monthly statements with copies of cheques
• Overdraft Protection, O. A. C.
• Cards (MemberCard, Global Payment Card, MasterCard) O.A.C.
• Free MemberDirect home banking access
• Over the counter debits as well as Credit Union ATM and Interac transactions cost .60 cents per transaction
• Utility bill payments processed through MemberDirect are no charge.  Teller bill payments accepted over the counter cost $1.00 per bill
• Transactions occurring at non Credit Union ATM’s will charge a fee to use their service as well as .60 cents per transaction from our Credit Union
• Chequing Account Service Charge Package - $10.00 per month – this includes 30 debits including over the counter withdrawals and interac transactions.  This service charge package also covers the $5.00 fee you normally would pay to obtain a money order from our credit union.  Any debits over the 30 debit limit will be charged at .60 cents per transaction

Savings Accounts

Plan 24 - Earn interest on your Daily Balance. Interest is calculated on your day end balance and paid once at the end of the month.

Interest is .5% on our Plan 24 accounts.

Kirby Kangaroo Account

Children age Newborn to 12 years

The Kirby Kangaroo account is geared towards children age newborn to 11 years. This accounts primary objective is to educate children about credit unions and to assist young members in establishing good savings habits.  Each time they deposit into their Kirby Kangaroo account they receive “Kirby Credits”.  These credits can be used to purchase Kirby merchandise available at our credit union.

Each child when opening their account is automatically enrolled and receives the following:

• Kirby Kangaroo tattoo
• Kirby Kangaroo passbook
• Kirby Kangaroo newsletter (received quarterly through the mail)
• Access to Kirby Kangaroo website for games and educational activities

Headstart

Children age 13 to 18 years

Headstart is used to promote money management and carries an interest rate of .5%.

Term Deposits

Competitive Interest Rates
Funds are deposited for a specific period of time and interest rates are guaranteed for the duration of the term.

Redeemable Term deposits are offered for 1 to 5 year terms, interest paid annually, cashable any time with a 1% interest penalty. Minimum deposit of $100.00.
